Your Lead-in cable connects your building to the outside network. This can be installed underground through PVC pipe to a pit or pole, or IBC through the air to a pole. It is important that this cable is free of faults and capable of running today’s advanced technology. Not only does your phone service rely on your lead-in cable, but so does the modem that connects you to the internet. Your lead-in cable is also responsible for the speed of your internet. Faulty and /or inadequate lead-in cable will not deliver the speed you should be getting and can also cause drop-outs. In areas where you are not yet on the NBN, or have NBN to the curb, pole or node, and not to the building, your services still rely on the existing copper lead-in.
